CHE Holds Golden Shovel Groundbreaking Ceremony

The Liverpool Central School District and Chestnut Hill Elementary communities recently celebrated the start of the second half of renovation work at the Chestnut Hill Complex.
Representatives from the district, Ashley McGraw Architects and Le Chase Construction, as well as members of the CHE Parent Teacher Organization and the CHE Student Council gathered to officially “break ground” on the elementary school portion of the project.
The renovation work at CHE is part of the Phase Two Capital Project approved by voters in March 2014. It includes:
- Improving Classrooms, Kitchen, Library and Gymnasium
- Replacing Roof
- Replacing Flooring
- Replacing Ceilings
- Replacing Lockers
- Installing ADA Accessible Toilets and Hardware
- Improving HVAC System Upgrading Plumbing (Fixtures, Piping Systems, Water Heaters)
- Upgrading Electrical (Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Communication)
CHE students will continue to attend classes at the Wetzel Road Elementary building throughout the renovation process. The district anticipates CHE students will return to the renovated elementary school in the fall of 2018.
Renovation work at Chestnut Hill Middle is nearly complete and middle school students will return to their building for the start of school in September 2017. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, September 5.
