CHE Named Edge FCU’s Golden Savings School for 2015-2016
Wednesday, December 2, 2015 -
At the start of the school year, students at several local elementary schools had the opportunity to open their very own savings accounts at Edge Federal Credit Union. Each week credit union representatives would visit participating schools to collect Saver Booklets and process deposits for the students.
Participants at Chestnut Hill Elementary were so successful in their financial efforts this fall that the school was named the 2015-2016 Golden Savings School. The award is part of Edge FCU’s Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees Cub Savers Challenge between CHE, Morgan Road Elementary and Soule Road Elementary in the Liverpool Central School District, and Michael A. Maroun Elementary in the Phoenix Central School District.
CHE will play host to the Golden Savings Tree trophy for the remainder of the school year.
Edge FCU’s Cub Savers Program was created to educate young students about the value of money and to help them develop responsible money practices. With parental permission, students can open their own Cub Saver account through the credit union. Participating schools offer a “banking day” in their building where each student can experience banking procedures and services.
