CNYSBA to Hold Special Advocacy Workshop
Wednesday, December 10, 2014 -
The Central New York School Boards Association is once again preparing an advocacy campaign to let Albany know that its under-informed and misguided approach to school funding is having an impact on our children’s futures.
CNYSBA and the New York State PTA Central Region will kick off this campaign with a special workshop, “How to Create & Carry Out Effective Community Advocacy in Support of Our Schools, Our Children & Our Future,” on Thursday, December 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Marcellus High School Auditorium.
The workshop is free and is open to everyone (school board members, parents, community members, administrators, teachers, business people).
The workshop will provide those in attendance with background regarding what is at stake this year, as well as tips and insight into ways to be more effective with your district’s advocacy efforts. Presenters will be Dr. Rick Timbs, executive director of the Statewide School Finance Consortium, and Bonnie Russell, NYS PTA President.
