LCSD Students Named Scholastic Art Winners

Twenty-four Liverpool Central School District students recently were honored as winners in the 2017 CNY Scholastic Art Awards program. The annual competition recognizes the achievements of hundreds of students throughout 13 Central New York counties. Earning honors were:

  • Gold Key, Photography: Liverpool High School sophomore Camryn Chaffee and Soule Road Middle seventh-grader Elizabeth LaDuc
  • Silver Key, Photography: LHS sophomore Camryn Chaffee, SRM eighth-grader Maddison Smith, LHS senior Josh Britton, LHS sophomore Ashley Culican, LHS sophomore Nazrabi Huq, LHS sophomore Arabella Johnson and LHS senior Danielle Lonczak (two awards)
  • Silver Key, Painting: SRM seventh-grader Lily Gravante, LHS sophomore Naomi Hammons and LHS junior Durga Khadka
  • Silver Key, Drawing & Illustration: LHS junior Claire Goetzke Silver Key, Sculpture: LHS senior Sahithi Seethala
  • Honorable Mention: LHS sophomore Camryn Chaffee, LHS sophomore Arabella Johnson (two awards), SRM eighth-grader Kadence Osborne, LHS sophomore Aaron Alejo, LHS junior Syrenity Bitting, LHS junior Mary Buehler (two awards), LHS senior Austin Dearborn, LHS sophomore Alexandra Delmonico, LHS senior Matt Eckert-Ross, LHS senior Laurie Phan, LHS junior Malana Savino, LHS junior Brooke Schmedicke and LHS junior Kaitlynn Young

More than 1,800 pieces of art from this year’s Scholastic Art Awards will be on display to the public through March 3 at Onondaga Community College’s Whitney Applied Technology Center. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
