Tuesday, June 20, 2017 -
Students from Todd Aemmer, Elizabeth Brazill and Mary Waterman’s Liverpool High School health classes recently participated in the 25th annual AIDS Walk/Run at Beaver Lake.
LHS students formed teams, designed their own T-shirts, helped with set up and tear down at the event, and raised more than $2,700 for ACR Health. The teams from LHS – Adios AIDS, AIDz Busterz and Get Good GrAIDS and Stop the AIDS - also were honored as the event’s top youth team.
ACR Health hosts the annual AIDS Walk/Run. This year’s event raised more than $132,000 to help the not-for-profit organization provide a range of support services to individuals with chronic diseases, such as HIV/AIDS, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, asthma, substance use disorders and serious mental illness. ACR Health helps individuals in the Central, Northern and Mohawk Valley regions of New York State.
