LHS Senior Receives National Art Honor

Liverpool Central School District Photo of Liverpool High School senior Erin Lacy.Director of Fine Arts David Perry is pleased to announce that Liverpool High School senior Erin Lacy has earned a Gold Medal in the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition.

Lacy received the Gold Medal for her mixed media piece called The Cute Critter Caravan. She will be honored during an awards ceremony to be held at Carnegie Hall in June.

Founded in 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation's longest-running, most prestigious educational initiative supporting student achievement in the visual and literary arts. The awards are presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, a non-profit organization whose mission is to recognize students with exceptional artistic and literary talent. In 2019, students submitted nearly 340,000 works of art and writing for consideration.
