LHS Student Participate in US Army STEM Demonstration
Friday, September 25, 2015 -
The Liverpool High School Arctic Warriors robotics team is pleased to announce that the United States Army is its newest team sponsor.
To celebrate this new partnership, the U.S. Army brought its Army STEM Experience semi-truck to LHS today to show students how the science, technology, math and engineering skills they learn in school can be applied to the real world.
The STEM experience is a mobile, interactive computer scenario designed to provide a glimpse into the U.S. Army’s technological advancements and how these advancements will help a new generation of soldiers combat environmental and national threats.
It includes a series of three different rooms – The Situation Room, The Mission Room and the Research and Development Room. Students are presented with the following scenario: “The year is 2032 and a radical faction has threatened to undermine world security. A news agency has just released a report on an explosion in an eastern European chemical plant, and the U.S. Army is on high alert. It’s now up to you and your team to rescue the trapped workers in the plant.”
