LMS Spanish Teacher Receives NYSAFLT President’s Award

Liverpool Middle Spanish teacher Barbara Patterson has been recognized by the New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers with its President’s Award for 2017. The award honors individuals for their outstanding and continuous service to NYSAFLT and the foreign language community.
Patterson has taught Spanish for 22 years (and French for four years). As a member of NYSAFLT, she has served as its assistant director, presented at the annual conference, received a Summer Institute Scholarship, and won a Teacher Incentive Grant. Since 2015 she has served as co-chair of the Public Advocacy Committee, which advocates for world languages to all stakeholders and supports world language legislation at the state and federal levels.
NYSAFLT is a professional organization dedicated to providing NYS foreign language teachers with professional development opportunities and promoting the study of foreign languages and cultures.
