Matott Returns to LHS for Career Chat

CNY Central meteorologist and Liverpool High School graduate Molly Matott recently lhsmatottcareerchat1stopped by LHS to speak with students about what she calls “her dream job.”

Matott visited her alma mater as part of LHS Career Chats, a new series of talks featuring local professionals. The LHS Counseling Center and Administrative Intern Maura White launched the series to help students explore careers available to them after graduation.

Students had the opportunity to ask Matott, one of Syracuse’s newest meteorologists, about the different aspects of her career and what she loves about the weather.

She shared stories about her time at LHS, as well as the classes and activities that she was involved in during high school. She also spoke about her experiences at the State University of New York at Oswego where she received a bachelor’s degree in meteorology and a minor in mathematics. She participated in a variety of activities while at SUNY Oswego, which included serving as the chief meteorologist at the college’s television station WTOP-10 TV.
