NPE Students Get a Personal Lesson in Character

Wednesday, December 7, 2016 -

Bravery and teamwork… those are just two of the character traits that Nate Perry Elementarynpemilitaryassembly2 students are learning about this year as part of The Positivity Project.

And what better way to learn about those character traits than by meeting two people who exemplify them every day – 1st Lt. Shane Cutlip and Staff Sgt. George Stratakos.

The pair, members of the Air National Guard’s 174th Attack Wing, spoke with students about their roles in the 174th and how teamwork is an important part of their jobs. They also showed students an example of bravery by sharing a video of the pair jumping out of an airplane.

To close the assembly, NPE students learned about another character trait – gratitude – when they thanked the pair and all members of the military for keeping the country safe each and every day.

The Positivity Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping America’s youth build stronger relationships by recognizing the character strengths in themselves and others.
