NPE Students Shown Examples of Bravery
Friday, December 21, 2018 -
Bravery is just one of the character traits that Nate Perry Elementary students are learning about this year as part of The Positivity Project.
And what better way to learn about bravery than by meeting three people (and a K-9) who exemplify that character trait.
Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Eddie Brown and Detective Dan Butler spoke with students about the role the department’s bomb squad plays and how robots can assist them with an ongoing investigation. Then Senior Officer Jennifer Norris had the chance to explain how her K-9 partner Brisa’s sense of smell plays an important role when they are on duty at the Jamesville Correctional Facility.
At the end of the assembly, the students expressed their gratitude (another Positivity Project trait) to those who risk their lives to keep them safe each and every day.
The Positivity Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping America’s youth build stronger relationships by recognizing the character strengths in themselves and others.
