NPE Students to Focus on Imagination
Wednesday, October 28, 2015 -
This year, Nate Perry Elementary students will use their imagination to make their school and community a better place.
During a special school-wide assembly, Liverpool Central School District Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark F. Potter read the book What Do You Do with an Idea? (written by Kobi Yamada and illustrated by Mae Besom), which tells the story of how a child’s idea grows and grows.
Dr. Potter shared the same book with the district’s teachers and staff before the start of the school year to inspire them to welcome ideas and help them to grow. Little did he know that the book would be the perfect fit for NPE’s school-wide theme of “Imagine.”
By the end of the assembly, students learned that their imagination can have an impact on the NPE community and beyond - from solving important issues to creating new inventions.
“I know everyone has an idea that can change the world,” Dr. Potter said.
After the assembly, NPE students excitedly returned to their classrooms where they participated in a number of activities that sparked their creativity and imagination.
