Two LCSD Students Honored During State Bus Safety Poster Contest
Thursday, October 13, 2016 -
Posters created last school year by Elmcrest Elementary fourth-grader Senad Selimovic and Liverpool Middle seventh-grader Meliha Selimovic were selected as winners at the state level of the 2016 National School Bus Safety Poster Contest. The New York Association for Pupil Transportation sponsored the state contest.
Senad placed third in Division 2 and Meliha placed second in Division 3. Both received a congratulatory letter and a cash prize.
Each year during the month of March, Liverpool Central School District bus drivers introduce the poster contest and its rules to students during their spring emergency bus drills. At the beginning of May, LCSD Transportation Center staff members judge the posters submitted by students.
This year’s theme was “Stop on Red.”
