Update Regarding LCSD K-6 Report Card

Thursday, June 11, 2020 -

Dear Parents or Guardians,

I hope this message finds you and your family safe and healthy.

After much thought and careful consideration, the Liverpool Central School District does not believe that our traditional grading practices are appropriate in the complex environment in which we currently find ourselves. It was decided that a strategic pause on grades for students in grades K-6 is warranted as the district works to support our students, parents, and staff during these unprecedented and challenging times.

Report cards for the third trimester will be completed using SchoolTool. Grade K-5 teachers will assign an N/A to each third-trimester standard, and the effort for each third-trimester subject will be left blank. Teachers in grades K-6 will provide students and families with a brief narrative that covers the student’s progress up to the closure as well as his/her level of engagement in online instruction during the closure.

Paper copies of report cards will not be sent home. The following link will provide you with information regarding how to access your child’s report card on the School Tool Parent Portal:

Thank you for your time. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by phone at 315-622-7176 or by e-mail at

Best wishes,

Richard Chapman
Executive Director of Elementary Education
