To Speak at a Board Meeting
The Board of Education welcomes comments from the public at its meetings, but also needs to ensure that this privilege is managed such that the Board can complete its agenda. For that reason, the Board has adopted a policy on comments by the public to the Board that sets aside fifteen minutes at the end of each Board meeting, with a three minute per person limit unless extended by the Board. A copy of the policy will be available for public inspection at the meeting.
Community members wishing to speak during the public/oral communication portions of the meeting are asked to fill out a "Request to Speak" form available at the meeting and give it to the Board Clerk prior to the meeting. Community members will be called upon during oral communications in the order in which the request to speak forms are received by the Board Clerk.
Issues involving particular students or employees are not permissible topics for oral communications. If a community member needs to speak to someone on a particular student or staff matter, please direct concerns to the Superintendent of Schools by calling
622-7125, or by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
