2017 IRS Rate for Business Mileage

The business mileage reimbursement rate is used to calculate the deductible costs of operating a vehicle for business. The IRS releases a new federal mileage rate at least once a year.  

The 2017 IRS rate for business mileage is 53.5 cents.

 

To Claim Mileage

  1. Save the LCSD Mileage Calculator 2017 Filemaker Document (found under "Tips and Tricks" folder in First Class Conferences folder) to your computer. DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK ON THE FILE

  2. Open the document on your desktop and select the "Create New Mileage Claim Form" button.Complete form. It will automatically calculate your mileage and total dollar amount.

  3. Print the forms. Staple the two forms together.

  4. Sign and date the form.

  5. Obtain your Supervisor's signature. 

  6. Submit completed form to the appropriate department/administrator.

  7. Retain a copy for yourself.

19.3 Mileage Allowance: “Teachers, Regular Substitute Teachers, School Nurses, and Therapists shall be reimbursed at the highest rate per mile paid by the District for the use of their personal cars on official school business."

If you are an elementary teacher, send the completed form to Rick Chapman at the District Office.
If you are a secondary teacher, send the completed form to Kasey Dolson at the District Office.
If you are an OT/PT, SPED Helping Teacher, Hearing Impaired Teacher, Visually Impaired Teacher, Speech Teacher or Psychologist, send the completed form to Amy DiVita at the District Office.
