DDE K-4 Chess Team Wins County Tournament

The Donlin Drive Elementary K-4 Chess Team recently took home the crown during the Onondaga County K-4 Scholastic Chess Championships.
Students from across Central New York and beyond participated in the tournament, which was held at the Southside Academy Charter School in Syracuse. Students in kindergarten through 12th-grade played four rounds of non-elimination chess during the event.
Members of the DDE Chess Club are second-grader Hardik Alwa, fourth-grader Paul Clark, second-grader Kaleb Cox, sixth-grader Robert Cummings, second-grader Henry Dispenza, fifth-grader Dylan Jesmore, sixth-grader Alizander Marion, sixth-grader Kyle Porto, first-grader Alicia Snyder, third-grader Luke Snyder, second-grader Eva Spoto, third-grader Samhita Veershetty and third-grader Kaidan Willey. DDE parent David Snyder serves as chess club advisor.
