LCSD Students Named Scholastic Art Winners

Twenty-eight Liverpool Central School District students recently were DSC 0006honored as winners in the 2016 CNY Scholastic Art Awards program. The annual competition recognizes the achievements of hundreds of students throughout 13 Central New York counties. Earning honors were:

  • Silver Key, Portfolio: Liverpool High School senior Bailey McGowan
  • Honorable Mention, Portfolio: LHS seniors Amelia Johnson, Bailey McGowan, Victoria Wong
  • Gold Key, Photography: LHS senior Chloe Foster
  • Gold Key, Painting: LHS senior Amelia Johnson
  • Gold Key, Drawing and Illustration: LHS senior Luke Rogers
  • Gold Key, Sculpture: LHS senior Victoria Wong
  • Silver Key, Painting: LHS Annex freshman Camryn Chaffee and LHS senior Bailey McGowan
  • Silver Key, Design: LHS junior Edward Cosme
  • Silver Key, Photography: LHS junior Austin Dearborn and senior Bailey McGowan
  • Silver Key, Comic Art: LHS senior Maria Lore and junior Laurie Phan
  • Silver Key, Digital Art: LHS sophomore Elisa Makhlouf
  • Silver Key, Drawing and Illustration: LHS seniors Kayla Sanchez, Shay Uings and Rebecca Van Dusen
  • Silver Key, Ceramics and Glass: Soule Road Middle eighth-graders Sara Wiley and Toni Williams
  • Honorable Mention: LHS senior Dhuha Al-Bayati, LHS senior Anna Baggett, LHS junior Austin Dearborn, LHS Annex freshman Hanna Dombroski, LHS senior Chloe Foster (three awards), LHS senior Amelia Johnson (three awards), LHS sophomore Madison LaPoint, LHS senior Bailey McGowan, LHS junior Meghan Milazzo, LHS senior Julia Mumpton, LHS senior Allison O’Tier, LHS senior Luke Rogers, LHS senior Victoria Shoemaker (three awards), LHS senior Jillian Stagnitta, LHS senior Shay Uings (two awards), LHS senior Victoria Wong (two awards), LHS junior Ashley Wright (two awards) and SRM eighth-grader Mia Anthony.

More than 1,500 pieces of art from this year’s Scholastic Art Awards will be on display to the public through February 26 at Onondaga Community College’s Whitney Applied Technology Center. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
