LCSD to Present Community Forum Regarding Substance Abuse

The Liverpool Central School District will present a community forum regarding substance abuse in the community on Wednesday, June 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the North Central Church (7463 Buckley Road, Liverpool).
The forum will focus on the realities of opiate and heroin use in Liverpool and will help community members connect with what works in the community to make changes.
A panel of school administrators and community leaders will be on hand to present information and answer audience questions. Scheduled to attend are LCSD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark F. Potter, News Channel 9 anchor Christie Casciano, Baldwinsville Addiction Awareness Group founder Ange Stevens, Hope Group representative Devin Nelepovitz, Onondaga County Health Commissioner Dr. Indu Gupta, school physician Dr. Peter Christiano and parent Deanna Axe. Other community leaders joining the event are a local judge, a member of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department, members of the ambulance corps, school counselors, community counselors and parents.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for coffee and videos.
