LPL and LCSD to Present ‘Geek Squad Academy’
Monday, May 1, 2017 -
The Liverpool Central School District and the Liverpool Public Library will present a two-day technology camp to students between the ages of 10 and 18 years old.
The camp, called Geek Squad Academy, was made possible through an educational grant from Best Buy. It will take place on Wednesday, June 28, and Thursday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Soule Road Elementary. The academy is free and participants should bring a bag lunch.
The academy offers students the opportunity to develop tech skills, build self-confidence, spark creativity, and discover how technology can benefit them in their educational pursuits and future careers. Local Geek Squad Agents and volunteers will cover topics that include coding, film production, photography, 3D design, digital music and more.
Registration is now open for Liverpool Central School district residents. Beginning May 8, registration will be open to all Onondaga County residents. Registration is limited to 200 students. Participants will receive a T-shirt, USB drive and backpack. Best Buy will provide all of the technology used during the academy.
To register, visit the LPL Web site at http://www.lpl.org/223-teen-services/3352-geek-squad-academy-for-ages-10-18. In addition to the registration form, please note you will need to fill out the release waiver form also available on the page.
