NPE Students Focus on Hard Work, Discovery and Imagination

Nate Perry Elementary students know how to tinker. They npespcablankets2know how to play. They know how to be creative. And they definitely know how to use their imagination.

So the NPE community celebrated those things by participating in the second annual Global School Play Day. Students had the opportunity to play board games, decorate a Lego wall, make blankets for the Central New York SPCA, or participate in any creative activity they could find in their classrooms. Students also came up with many imaginative hairstyles to help celebrate the day of creativity.

Two California teachers established Global School Play Day in 2015 to promote the idea that unstructured play is a vital part of a child’s development. More than 170,000 students across the country participated in this year’s event.
