DDE, NPE Staff Member Tests Positive for COVID-19 - 10/4/20

Dear Liverpool CSD Families and Staff,

On Sunday, October 4, the Liverpool Central School District was informed that a staff member at Donlin Drive Elementary and Nate Perry Elementary has tested positive for COVID-19.

Due to privacy laws, we cannot provide any additional information about the staff member who tested positive or about those who may have been exposed.

The Onondaga County Health Department is in the process of identifying and notifying those individuals who came in close contact with the staff member who tested positive.

The staff member who tested positive, and any other students, faculty, and staff who were exposed, will not return to school until the Onondaga County Health Department provides clearance for them to do so.

All Donlin Drive Elementary and Nate Perry Elementary classes will switch to REMOTE LEARNING on Monday, October 5, only.

After discussions with the Onondaga County Health Department, and “out of an abundance of caution,” Donlin Drive Elementary and Nate Perry Elementary will be closed on Monday, October 5, to allow for additional contact tracing as well as a deep cleaning and disinfection of the building. We anticipate Donlin Drive Elementary and Nate Perry Elementary will reopen on Tuesday, October 6.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. If you are not contacted by the Onondaga County Health Department, but are still concerned you may have been exposed, please visit the New York State Health Department Web site at https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/find-test-site-near-you to find local testing sites.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mark F. Potter
Superintendent of Schools
