Questions Regarding Food Benefit Debit Cards

Many Liverpool Central School District families have contacted the district regarding prepaid food stamp debit cards they have received from the New York State Office of Temporary Disability Assistance.

These cards, totaling approximately $420, are part of pandemic relief funding (The Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020) to make up for school lunches that children did not receive in the spring.

Families across New York State are eligible for this funding if their children receive SNAP benefits, are enrolled in Medicaid, receive free or reduced meals at school, or attend a school that participates in the Community Eligibility Provision program.

Names and contact information (addresses) used by the state were based on the information on file for families at the start of the extended school closure in March 2020. If your address has changed since then, this may impact when and if you receive your benefit. The Office of Temporary Disability Assistance plans to continue mailing out these benefits through the end of October.

If you are unsure whether or not you qualify for this benefit, please contact the Liverpool Central School District Food Service Department at 315-622-7172. The office has a list of eligible students and families.

Any additional questions about the relief funding should be directed to the Office of Temporary Disability Assistance at 518-473-1090.
