Update Regarding In-Person School for Liverpool CSD - 3/4/21

This afternoon, Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon and Commissioner of Health Dr. Indu Gupta announced a policy change that would reduce social distancing guidance for schools from six feet to three feet… with the caveat that districts need to utilize some type of partition or barrier to keep students healthy and safe.

While this is fantastic news, there is still a great deal of work that needs to be done to implement this change in classrooms and on school buses.

Liverpool Central School District administrators and I have been reviewing our school reopening plans to determine how we can best modify the originally outlined social distancing guidelines. I anticipate issuing an addendum to our school reopening plan outlining the updated expectations in the near future.

I hope to have more information to share with families soon.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mark F. Potter
Superintendent of Schools
