Milk Carton Shortage Impacting School Districts

Milk carton

On Friday, the Liverpool Central School District Food Service Department was contacted by its milk vendor letting the district know there is a shortage of materials to manufacture one pint milk cartons. This shortage is nationwide and could last several months.

It is possible that the vendor will no longer be able to provide districts with individual milk cartons as early as this week.

If the vendor cannot provide the one pint cartons, it will supply districts with half gallon containers of milk instead. Liverpool has purchased disposable cups with lids in order to continue to offer milk to students at each meal.

Unfortunately chocolate milk will not be available once the one pint cartons are no longer available. Students are encouraged to bring their water bottles to lunch if they choose not to purchase the milk the district has on hand.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will provide updates as necessary.
