Liverpool Central School District Audit Committee Vacancy

Longtime Liverpool Central School District Audit Committee member, David Bowles, submitted his resignation, effective January 1, 2026, in order to spend more time with his family in retirement. The Board of Education extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Bowles for his many years of dedicated public service and his steadfast commitment to safeguarding the District’s long-term fiscal health and integrity.

In accordance with the Audit Committee Charter, the Board of Education is seeking to appoint a qualified individual to fill this vacancy as promptly as possible. Established in 2005, the Audit Committee serves in an advisory capacity to assist the Board in overseeing the District’s internal and external audit functions related to fiscal operations.

The committee typically meets approximately five times per year. Meetings are currently held on Thursday mornings at 8 a.m., though scheduling may be adjusted based on member availability.

Ideal candidates will have a professional background in accounting, auditing, actuarial science, or a related field. (Residency within the District is not required.)

Individuals interested in this volunteer opportunity—or those wishing to recommend a candidate—are encouraged to contact the District Clerk at GMassett@liverpool.k12.ny.us and include relevant background and qualifications.

The next Audit Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 8 a.m. The Board aims to fill the vacancy in advance of this meeting.

The Board of Education thanks the greater community for its continued support of Liverpool Central School District.
