Liverpool CSD Seeks Real Estate Broker, Appraisal Service for Ed 2020 Initiative

The Liverpool Central School District continues to make progress with its plans for the future.

As part of the Education 2020 initiative, the district is reconfiguring grades levels and school buildings in an effort to operate the district more efficiently and maximize money spent on opportunities for students.

With these changes, the Liverpool CSD will no longer utilize some district property and is in the process of soliciting bids for Commercial Real Estate Broker and Commercial Real Estate Appraiser Services to assist in selling those two properties - the District Office (formerly Craven Crawford Elementary) and Nate Perry Elementary.

The former Craven Crawford Elementary, located at 195 Blackberry Road, was built in 1960 and has a gross square footage of 55,634. Nate Perry Elementary, located at 7053 Buckley Road, was built in 1957 and has a gross square footage of 53,888.

On February 25, the Liverpool Central School District posted a Request for Proposal for each service on the BidNet – Empire State Purchasing Group Web site. These RFPs will be open for submissions until March 18, at 2 p.m. EST. Late proposals will not be accepted.

Proposals can be submitted electronically through BidNet by clicking here. Proposers are encouraged create an account if they are not already a registered vendor. Proposers can establish a free “search only” account in BIdNet-Empire State Purchasing Group. It is not necessary to purchase a paid subscription to obtain the RFP document and subsequent addendum/addenda.

The district anticipates the Board of Education approving Commercial Real Estate Broker and Commercial Real Estate Appraiser Services in June 2021.

The Liverpool Central School District also anticipates hosting several in-person community meetings in the fall to provide families with updates and allow for back & forth conversations regarding Education 2020 implementation plans. Information regarding these meetings will be posted on the Liverpool CSD Web site (www.liverpool.k12.ny.us) and sent to families via SchoolMessenger.

The district’s Education 2020 plans were based on five key values that the Liverpool community shares with LCSD teachers and staff members:

  • Class size (only close schools if keeping current size is possible)
  • Program opportunities (Career and Technical Education, STEM/STEAM, etc.)
  • Mental health support/safety
  • Tradition (keep what is working)
  • Grade configuration (only change if it supports innovation)

Stage One of the Education 2020 initiative will be implemented in the Fall 2021 when the incoming Liverpool High School freshman class is relocated to the LHS main building and the district finalizes the restructuring process of the remaining district buildings.

Stage Two will take place in the Fall of 2022 when the district implements a quadrant model (K-2, 3-5, 6-8 buildings) and converts the LHS Annex into a fourth middle school. In addition, both Nate Perry Elementary and the District Office will be closed.

Proposers who need assistance with submitting proposals should contact LCSD School Purchasing Officer John Flynn at 315-622-7112.
