LHS Symphonic Band Selected to Perform at Music Ed Conferences

Liverpool High School Symphonic Band

The Liverpool High School Symphonic Band, under the direction of LHS music teacher Stephen Salem, has been selected as featured performers for two upcoming music education conferences.

The LHS Symphonic Band was selected as a featured performer at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) annual conference from December 1 to 4 in Rochester. The group will perform during one of the conference’s concert hours. They were selected from a pool of performing ensembles from across the state that submitted audition recordings last spring.

Then from April 13 to 16, the LHS Symphonic Band will return to Rochester as a featured performer during the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Eastern Division Conference. The group was selected from applicants across the division.

“These are both tremendous honors and opportunities for the entire fine arts department and the district,” said Liverpool Central School District Director of Fine Arts Adam Shatraw.
