2026-2027 Information

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Liverpool Central School District residents will vote on the 2026-2027 Liverpool Central School District Budget. Residents also will elect individuals to the Board of Education.

Voting will take place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

2026-2027 Budget Calendar 

  • September 2025: Budget materials distributed including quotes, supplies & equipment. Staffing needs, Instructional/Non-Instructional staffing, staffing changes and extra-duty staff presented to Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.
  • October 2025: Begin meetings with the Budget Advisory Team (BAT). Each budget presentation will have an update from BAT meetings (BAT meetings will be held monthly until BOE adopts budget).
  • October 20, 2025: Review of state aid factors/long range financial plan.
  • November 12, 2025: Distribution of Budget Development Materials to Budget Originators.
  • November 17, 2025: Present initial budget assumptions (cost drivers and savings), future financial goals and the 2026-27 budget development theory.
  • December 2025: Initial BOCES Service Request due December.
  • December 15, 2025: Present Debt Service and Employee Benefits early projections
  • December 17, 2025: Budget input due.
  • January 12, 2026: Present Operations & Maintenance, Transportation and General Support Budget.
  • January 26, 2026: Present Preliminary Revenue (Governor’s Proposal) and Present Curriculum: Staffing, Athletics and Special Ed.
  • February 9, 2026: Present Draft Budget
  • February 23, 2026: Further Review of Draft Budget
  • March 1, 2026: Tax Levy Limit Calculation due to the Office of the State Comptroller.
  • March 9, 2026: Present final balanced budget to BOE for action at the following meeting and Review of Annual Meeting Resolution.
  • March 16, 2026: BOE Candidate Petitions and Packet with Meet the Candidate Information and instructions for Biography Available ( # of signatures or 2% of voters in the previous annual election). Mail interest letters to poll workers.
  • March 23, 2026: Present final budget for adoption, Property Tax Card presented for BOE adoption and Approval of Annual Meeting Resolution.
  • March 2026: BOCES Service Visit (TBD)
  • March 26, 2026: Legal notice of school budget hearing and budget vote must be advertised four times within seven weeks of the vote with the first publication at least 45 days before the budget date of budget vote. Post Standard and Star Review.
  • April 20, 2026: BOCES Annual Administrative Budget Vote.
  • April 20, 2026: Deadline for submission of petitions for nominations of BOE candidates. Inform candidates of legal requirements for all candidates for election to the Board of Education to file sworn statements of campaign contributions and distribute informational material. First sworn statement to be filed with the District Clerk and Commissioner of Education thirty days prior to vote date.
  • April 21, 2026: 8:00 AM Drawing by District Clerk for determination of order for listing Board candidates on ballot and voting machine.
  • April 21, 2026: Forward School Bell to Printer
  • April 24, 2026: Final date for the adoption of the property tax report card by the Board of Education. Distribute military ballots no later than 25 days before the budget vote.
  • April 27, 2026: Property tax report card is due to NYSED no later than this date or within 24 hours of BOE adoption of the budget.
  • April 27, 2026 to May 12, 2026: The District Clerk must mail an absentee ballot for every qualified voter who requests one. The ballot must be mailed no earlier than 30 days or later than 7 days prior to the election day. The District Clerk must maintain a list of the names of all individuals provided with absentee ballots. The list is subject to public inspection and legal challenge until the day of election.
  • April 30, 2026: Budget Statement and required attachments must be made available, upon request, at each school building and at the district office, public or free library and on the district’s Web site at least 7 days before Budget Hearing date and at least 14 days before the Budget Vote.
  • May 7, 2026: Budget Public Hearing at 5:30 p.m.
  • May 8-13, 2026: Mail budget notice to eligible voters after the Budget Hearing but no later than 6 days prior to Budget Vote day.
  • May 19, 2026: Budget Vote
  • June 16, 2026: Statewide Budget Revote Day.
