Graduation Info
LHS Commencement 2023 - Thursday, June 22, 2023
- Exposition Center at the New York State Fairgrounds
- Graduation Ceremony begins at 6 p.m. - (Doors open at 5:00 pm)
Seniors are to report to the Exposition Center by 4:45 p.m.
Recommended dress:
- Dress shirt, tie, dress slacks, shoes, and socks.
- Dress, skirt, and blouse, or dress slacks and blouse, shoes.
Gold honor cords will be distributed at rehearsal on June 21
Diplomas will be handed to seniors immediately following the walk across the stage. Your AA teacher will provide a diploma envelope to each student.
Following the ceremony, seniors will exit through the main doors of the Expo Center. Families should wait until all students exit before joining their graduate.
Additional Information
A photographer will be taking three photos of each graduate. “Thumbnail samples” will be mailed/emailed to your home free of charge with the option of purchasing.
Handicap Seating - There are multiple designated handicapped seating areas in the Exposition Center. Handicapped guests may be accompanied by a family member.
There is no charge to park at the Exposition Center.
Air horns, cowbells, beach balls, silly string, and other disruptive items should not be brought to the ceremony.
REMINDER:
- No cell phones should be used as you are receiving your diploma on stage.
- Students should not bring purses to the graduation ceremony. There is no place to store them during the ceremony.

LHS Commencement Rehearsal - Wednesday, June 21, 2023
LHS Cafeteria 12 to 2 p.m.
Regular morning bus runs are available.
Each student will receive 9 admission tickets to the graduation ceremony. Tickets will be distributed to seniors in their Academic Advisement classrooms in early June.
If you are a January Graduate or a Senior without an AA class, BOCES student, or attending an external program, please pick up your tickets from the LHS Main Office during the first week of June.
Students requiring additional tickets should contact their fellow classmates for any unused tickets.
It is expected that ALL STUDENTS who plan to participate in the graduation ceremony be at the rehearsal. This includes January Grads, BOCES, Career Academy and students attending any other external programs.
Do not bring caps and gowns to rehearsal.

Seniors with last names "A" - "Ki" should go to the right side of the cafeteria. Line up under the sign your last name falls between. A teacher will be there to help guide your group.
Seniors with last names "Kn" - "Z" should go to the left side of the cafeteria. Line up under the sign your last name falls between. A teacher will be there to help guide your group.
